Fool’s Paradise

What’s done to children, they will do to society.

It is important to keep in mind this quote: the world we leave to our children is the world of tomorrow in which we’re going to live, whether we want it or not… unless we commit suicide… Following the same logic, the world we have today, as dysfunctional and dystopian as we see it (if we see it or if we want to see it) is the world our parents have left to us to struggle with. If you feel nasty in this world, I guess you are free to blame the previous generation which did nothing, either out of comfort, or out of fear; they are responsible. And I do not agree with the fact that this generation is told by the older one that “you should do more or better”. First, we begin with you, the ones who had the power but did nothing; only afterwards we discuss ourselves and what we can or no longer can do…

What you see here is Oradea, the central square. I even made a video which I added on Substack: https://cezardanilevici.substack.com/p/oradea-altfel . There you can see the place as it is in reality and get a glimpse of the general feeling.

Those people are playing football or foot-tennis with a bottle, while in the background people are singing on stage in front of basically empty seats. The entire scene left a lasting impression of absurdity in my soul…

Here is a photo from a local supermarket, with food (meat) kept in locked plastic boxes with magnetic tags, so as to make it hard to be stolen. People are stealing food… yeah… I don’t know if it’s the migrants or the local folk – it could be both – but it’s a depressing sight. I asked the lady responsible with that part of the store and she told me that, despite locking food, the shoplifting continues… In the image below you can see chocolate kept either in plastic boxes or covered in a steel net, which is hard to cut…

I said in a previous article that I believe I live in a dystopian world. Well, here are the images. This is NOT the world I used to know when I was a child. It is bad… I cannot dare to dream the future…
