Gare de Lyon

Gare de Lyon, in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, is one of the main railway stations and the 2nd busiest in France. It is a gateway to both the South (with Cote d’Azur) & the Centre of France, but also to the Alps, Italy & Switzerland. Here are some images.

The main building is nicely designed, built in 1849.

The details are beautiful and worth contemplating.

This is Hall 1, the oldest part.

And this is Hall 2, the newest part.

The clock tower was designed in the same style as Big Ben in London.
