Silent Twilight

My dreams,
rivers of ice,
carry me,
tireless,
along moon shadows.

They pull me out
of night and day,
and I wake up
in silent twilight.

It’s quiet
as in times
before Creation,
before you and me
became together.

I fill my lungs
with the nascent dawn
my breath,
your breath,
whispering prayers
for a new,
peaceful
sunrise.
